Fake organisers and ghost clubs
A common scam is a club that only exists to collect first contributions. The “organiser” advertises on social media or in a WhatsApp group, collects joining fees or the first month from many people, and disappears.
- Be wary of clubs full of strangers recruited online.
- Ask who else is in the club, and whether you know any of them.
- Never pay a “joining fee” to a person. Money Club does not charge one.

“Just send it to my EcoCash”
The single most important rule: club money moves through the app, never to a person. A message like “The system is slow this month, just send your $50 to my EcoCash and I’ll record it” is the start of most losses — even when it comes from someone you know.
A payment made outside the app does not appear in the club record, and Money Club cannot protect it or trace it.

Impersonation
Scammers copy an organiser’s name and profile photo onto a new number, or pretend to be from Money Club or Safely support. They then ask for a payment, a PIN or a one-time code.
- Money Club and Safely staff will never ask for your password, PIN or one-time codes.
- If an organiser messages from a new number, check with them on the number you already have.
- Only sign in at the Money Club or Safely website you normally use.

Returns that are too good to be true
A real rotating club pays back exactly what members put in — no more. Any club that promises to double your money, pay “interest” of 30% a month, or reward you for recruiting others is not a savings club.
Schemes where your payout depends on new people joining after you are pyramid schemes. They always collapse, and the last people in lose everything.

How Money Club and Safely help
