Safety centre
Your club’s money, kept where it can’t walk off.
How money is protected on Money Club, the scams to look out for, and exactly what to do if something doesn’t feel right.
How funds are protected
Money moves through Safely, not through people.
Wallet to wallet
Contributions are paid from each member’s own Safely wallet, and the pot lands in the recipient’s Safely wallet. Nobody carries cash.
Organisers never hold the pot
Running a club doesn’t give the organiser the money. They can’t move it to themselves, and they don’t need anyone’s PIN to run the club.
One record for everyone
Every contribution and payout is recorded against the club with its date and amount, and members of the club can see it.
What this can’t do: a club still depends on members paying what they agreed. If a member stops paying after receiving the pot, the record shows exactly what they owe — report it and we’ll work through it with your club.
Scam patterns
What a scam message looks like.
Four patterns that come up again and again in savings-club scams. The details change; the shape doesn’t.
The “pay me directly” request
Example message“The app is down this week. Just send your $50 to my EcoCash 077… and I’ll mark you as paid.”
A payment outside the app never reaches the club record and can’t be traced or protected. Once it’s sent, getting it back is hard.
The fake support agent
Example message“Hi, this is Money Club support. Your wallet is locked — reply with the 6-digit code we just sent to unlock it.”
That code lets someone sign in as you. Our team will never ask for it, by message, call or email.
The impersonated organiser
Example message“New number, it’s me. Payout is delayed, can you send the contribution here for now?”
Scammers copy names and profile photos. Check with the person on the number you already have — and still only pay in the app.
The too-good return
Example message“Join our club, $20 a week becomes $200 in a month. Bring two friends and you go first.”
A real rotating club pays back exactly what members put in. Promised profits or rewards for recruiting mean a pyramid scheme.
What we’ll never ask
If someone asks for these, it isn’t us.
Your password, wallet PIN or any one-time code (OTP)
For you to pay a contribution outside the app
For you to send money to a personal EcoCash, OneMoney, InnBucks or bank account
For a “fee” to release your payout or unlock your account
Before you pay, check three things
- 1. You’re paying on the club page, in the app.
- 2. The amount matches what your club agreed.
- 3. You know at least some of the other members.
Report a problem
Something feels wrong? Stop, don’t pay, tell us.
Include the club name, who contacted you and screenshots of any messages. If you’ve already paid someone outside the app, tell us that too — and contact your mobile money provider straight away.

What happens after you report
- 1
We acknowledge it
A person on our team reads every report and replies to the email address on your account.
- 2
We look at the record
We check the club’s contributions, payouts and membership history — the same record members see.
- 3
We act on what we find
That can mean contacting the members involved, restricting an account or a club, or helping you take the matter further.
